Discovery Guide: Intro Lesson

In-Class Edition

Build Community
Life is better when we have good friends. God created us to need Him and to need other people. At BSF
we learn about God in groups, so we will start each class time learning a little more about each other.
Sometimes that will include a fun game. Sometimes we will talk to each other about interesting ideas.

Whatever we do, our Build Community time is a way for us to become good friends. True friends help
each other learn, and we want to learn as much as we can this year.

1. Whose name did you learn that you did not know before?

2. What do you hope you and your new friends will learn in BSF this year?

Discover Truth
At BSF we discover the most important truths in life by reading the Bible and seeing what it says. Every
week, we will dig into God’s Word to discover the amazing truths God wants us to know about Himself,
His Son, and His plan for His people. We will discover the best way to live as we learn God’s perfect
Word and trust in His perfect Son, Jesus!

3. What are the two main parts of the Bible called?

4. Who wrote the Bible?

Live Differently
If you discovered buried treasure, would you cover it up, walk away, and forget
about it? No! You would take it with you and do something with it, like share it with
your friends and family or use it to buy things you want or need. When we discover
truth in God’s Word, it does not do us any good to just close the Bible and walk away.
We take His Word with us in our minds and hearts. We share it with our friends and
family. We use it to know God better and to live life His way. We want to live differently
because of what we discover in God’s perfect Word.

5. Read Psalm 119:105. What does it tell us about God’s Word?

{ We cannot always trust God’s Word.
{ God’s Word is a light for our path.

6. When I trust God’s Word, I can ... Choose all that are correct.
{ discover the truth about God and people.
{ know the best way to live.
