Deadline: [Response Deadline Here]

Introduction
Give a summary of your organization, the project, your expectations, the timeline, and budget.
This is the executive summary that will weed out 50% of folks who can’t help you achieve your
goals.

Objective
Speak candidly about what you’re trying to do. What needs to be created?

Purpose
Why are we doing this? Is what you have just too old? Is there a big trade show coming up? Are
you gearing up to fight a bill?

Target Audiences
Who are we building this product for?

Current Status
Have you tried before to build this and failed? Are you moving from trying internally to hiring an
external team? Are you exploring hiring? Ready to hire in the next month? Is the budget
approved?

Requirements
This is where you’ll get into the meat of what you need done. If it’s a website, talk about the
functional requirements and pages you’ll need. If it’s a thought leadership campaign, talk about
the assets and rollout plan you’ll need executed. Do you need writing help? Photography?
Video? Illustration? Talk about everything you need done from a tactical perspective here.

Selection Process
How are you going to select the agency or firm? Is it as complicated as a scoring rubric? Or are
you just looking for the most innovative firm that you can afford? Is there an incumbent firm?

Budget
Speak candidly about your budget, but feel free to give a range. This helps folks give you the
most bang for your buck, and qualifies you as a real potential client.
