    Solution for Windows:

    1. Run the ae reg for pc file corresponding to the version of After Effects that is
    installed on your system.

    2. In the pop-up window, click “OK”

    Solution for Mac Os:

    1. Open the Terminal

    2. Paste a line that matches the version of After Effects that is installed on your
    system:

    For After Effects CC.2020:


    defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.10 PlayerDebugMode 1

    For After Effects CC.2019:


    defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.9 PlayerDebugMode 1

    For After Effects CC.2018:


    defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.8 PlayerDebugMode 1

    For After Effects CC.2017:


    defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.7 PlayerDebugMode 1

    For older versions:


    defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.6 PlayerDebugMode 1
    or
    defaults write com.adobe.CSXS.5 PlayerDebugMode 1

    3. Press Enter

    4. Restart After Effects
