characterizing features. It is precisely such continuity that appears
to us as the structural framework contouring the image of the
country. This sort of fixity of perception could be due, among
other things, to its minuscule territorial extension, which together
with the homogeneity and persistence of the representation
would make Albania a “mechanical” model (in Lévi Strauss’
sense) of long-lasting imagological analysis.
My research, carried out within the framework of comparative
studies, focuses on detecting the typologies of the representation
by which European intellectuals and artists of the 16th to 20th
centuries described the country, its customs and its people,
producing those that were to become the “images” by which
Albania was conceived abroad.

There have been several writers who have visited Albania since
the fall of communism in 1990.
Robert Carver, British travel writer and journalist, has written
extensively about Albania since the 1990s. He has published
several books and articles on the country, including The Accursed
Mountains: Journeys in Albania (1998), Where the Devil Can’t Go:
Traveling the Balkans (2004).
Carver first visited Albania in the early 1990s, just after the fall of
the communist regime. He was struck by the country's natural
beauty and the warmth and hospitality of its people. Over the
years, he has traveled extensively throughout Albania, exploring
its history, culture, and landscapes.
In The Accursed Mountains, Carver recounts his travels through the
remote and rugged north of Albania, where he encounters
shepherds, bandits, and isolated villages. He also delves into the
country’s turbulent past, including its occupation by the Nazi and
the Communist forces.
In Where the Devil Can't Go, Carver expands his focus beyond
Albania to explore the wider Balkan region. He travels through
Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, and Kosovo, documenting the effects of
war and political upheaval on the people and landscapes.
Carver’s writing is marked by his deep curiosity and love for the
places he visits, as well as his commitment to understanding the
complex histories and cultures of the regions he explores. He
continues to write and travel, and his work remains a valuable
resource for anyone interested in Albania and the Balkans.

Change starts within itself, from birth to death. A movement of
variability where from each point reached it returns to the
beginning and from there again to the previous end to the end.
Hence the start-return, the proximity-ddistance, longing-longing,
love-loss of love-contempt, joy-suffering-pain, hope-
disappointment, life-death, everyday life-eternity, and earth-sky
are metonymic metaphors that pave the way for passing from one
end to the other of this continuous movement. The personal life
of each one is thus the continuous journey, while the verse that
leaves behind in time and space is the path of his being in
motion. Even life as an abstraction is a journey, jointly and
individually, a daily walk or run of the human crowd towards its
end. The metaphor of the road trip is enriched by its approximate
ramifications: departure, waiting, longing, stopping, getting stuck,
home, etc.
In “The Delayed Pilgrim,” the travel metaphor creates a more
universal image through the Latin word pilgrim. The eternal
pilgrim, headed for the holy place, is delayed because he lost his
pole or others confused his way, the way of truth. Delayed, in
addition to the meaning of delay in time, also marks the lost, the
failed, the fruitless in their mission, in their ideal, already
disappointed.

dialogëzimi i M. Bahtinit, intertekstualiteti i J.Kristevës,
Xhonatan Kaler, Klaus Ulih etj. Kjo teori do të aplikohet edhe te
intertekstualiteti.
cilën do të sjellim rezultatet e analizës letrare.

prirje moderniste.
