RATIONALE

In the knowledge economy, when eighty percent of the brain is manifested in the product
value, the role of human resources is really important in production. Human resource is a
key factor that determines the success or failure of the business. The use of effective human
resources or not will strongly influence business enterprises’ situation. If laborers have high
ability, efficiency and enthusiasm in their work, all the enterprises and organizations may
easily attain their goals and increasing advantages in development will be obtained.
However, how to mobilize and use effectively the human resources is an art. In fact, many
businesses have full of quantity and good at quality in the workforce but this resource is only
potential! Therefore, in order for human resources to promote its ability, improving the
motivation of employees is considered an important solution.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

To identify the factors that affect to officers' work motivation in YBP

To evaluate the current situation of officers' work motivation in YBP

To propose solutions and some recommendations to improve the officers' work motivation in
YBP

Scope

The content of the study focuses on the situation of employee motivation in YBP based on a
theoretical framework related to employee motivation.

Work motivation

Motivation is the process that account for an individual's intensity, direction, and persistence
of effort toward attaining a goal. Motivation is a critical aspect of business, where the input of
human resources is maximized through achieving a high level of output. A motivated
workforce means a highly productive staff, all of which will help you achieve your business
goals. And this should be a main objective in your organizational and business plan.

Working condition

In general, the survey shows that the working environment at YBP is not influenced
by pollution from factory. However, there are some matters in equipment supporting
and communication tool make the officers unpleasant and have harmful impacts on
quality of work. Therefore, for the long run, YBP should try to improve and reduce
these issues and make the working condition more modem and convenient

Company Policies

In summary, the policies in YBP are built and controlled closely to allow company
can operate smoothly. It sometimes makes the officers confused because of the
complicated procedures but it is not the main problem causing dissatisfaction.
However, if company can improve and change the procedure system, company will
develop stronger

Salary and Benefits

In conclusion, the compensation plan and benefits offered in YBP are good. In some
ways, it enhanced the satisfaction of officers in work. If company utilize this strength,
they will motivate their staffs very well. Nevertheless, the appraisal system of the
company which used as a method to evaluate staff's performance and decide the level
of compensations as well as the bonus is uncompleted and in the long term, this issue
can cause many problems which are over the control

Employee Relations

In summary, the problems are less responsibility of some employees as well as the
unfairness treatment of managers had negative impacts on employee relationships at
YBP. In the near future, YBP should examine, review and remedy the problem exists
to enhance the employee relations in the company.

Supervision

In conclusion, there are two issues in supervision still remain unsolved. The staffs do
not receive constructive feedback frequently and the managers' treatment is not fair.
These caused to the dissatisfaction of officers in YBP. The Leader board of YBP
should visad codes to prodor the adtions s theband me the level of of officers is
higher.

Work itself and Responsibilities

Generally speaking, work itself is proved to be another problem leading


dissatisfactions among part of the workforce. With the overloaded volume of works,
the officers at YBP are in danger of having some problems in health like stress

Generally, although responsibility extrinsic, it strongly affects instrinic motivation in


each employee. Therefore, the matter in allocating the work scope should be concern
thoroughly, in the situation of YBP, it is clear that responsibility is one of urgent
motivation factors which need to be solved shortly.

Rewards and recognitions

In conclusion, YBP's rewards and recognitions do not seem good to motivate their
officials because there is no clear performance appraisal to recogniae fairly and
exactly staff's achievements to promote them, which might lead the unfairness
treatment of compensations and rewards. Not only this, if this issue happens in the
long time, it can reduce employees' self-confidence and self-esteem

Career development and Training

In summary, YBP is a friendly environment for employees who want to develop their
own career, the company also has good training programs with a variety of kinds of
courses. However, the implementation of those programs is not really effective for
officers: Company should consider to adjust the training programs to enhance the
officers' motivation.

Enhance the working condition

People want to be provided good and comfortable working conditions which allow
them to do their work in the best status

Improve the compensations and other benefits

Bonus system

Because the PA system is uncompleted and the evaluation is not exact and
depended on the personal relationships, the bonus is not paid fairly. Therefore, the
company should build an effective PA to deal with this problem.
Allowance

YBP applies the lunch, dinner allowances for officers working in the morning,
aftemoon and night shifts. However, due to the massive workload, the number of
staffs working overtime or in night shift is quite large. Therefore, it would be better
employees working in the night shift have another allowance as light meal which will
support employees to complete the work.

Improve the employee relations

Firstly, YBP should build a clear job description for each position so that
officers can know their responsibilities and the slackers force to accomplish their
duties.

Secondly, the manager should enforce a strict policy to clearly point out the
punishment with irresponsible staffs.

Thirdly, in order to the cooperation between staffs and the contribution


responsibility of each individual, YBP should add teamwork as a criteria to evaluate
performance of officers.

Finally, the exemplary managers always motivate their staffs to work in a


serious and strict manner. the managers should become good examples

Enhance the quality of supervision

The first step to avoiding the favoritism in the workplace is to foster and
promote professionalism in the company

The second step is offering training. Educating and informing managers and
employees alike is another way to help avoid biases

Last but not least, facilitate communication. Along the same lines as training,
it's important that employees know they have an open avenue for reporting favoritism
confidentially
