The Q-switched ND YAG laser takes specific wavelengths

light in high energy, which are absorbed by the pigment
and shatters the pigment into particles, breaking them into
very small fragments , some parts will consequently bounce
out of the skin and the other parts will spilt even further into
minute particles which eventually will be engulfed by the
phagocytes and ultimately gets eliminated by the lymphatic
system.
Application
Tattoo Removal
The treatment mechanically breaks down ink particles without causing ther-

mal damage. In time, the body's lymphatic system disposes of the ink frag-

ments. This natural healing process causes the tattoo to fade with minimal

risk of scarring or discoloration.

Pigmented Lesions
The long wavelength 1064nm has the least absorption by melanin and the

deepest penetration, effective for both epidermal and dermal pigmented le-

sions. The wavelength 532nm is well absorbed by both melanin and hemo-

globin. Because of the superficial penetration, it is limited to treating epider-

mal pigmented lesions.
