Common Nouns

• When they are descriptive, they are lowercase. When they are used in
place of a name, like a nickname, they are capitalized.
• In “I told my mom you are coming over after school,” “mom” is
lowercase. But in, “Will you check on Mom next week?” “mom” is
capitalized.

Step 1
Select with your team members a place in the main
hall or the outside court.

Step 2
Write a set of directions (3 to 4) so students can reach
that destination. Remember to use prepositions of
movement in your statements. Also, add a reward card
for the destination.

student´s personal challenge. Use your notes from the interview

in this part.
