The letters (K.), (S.) or (Z.) placed after a Hausa word denote that the
word is specially used in the districts of Kano, Sokoto or Zaria.
ENGLISH-HAUSA DICTIONAEY
When more than one Hausa equivalent is given it is not intended to
suggest that the Hausa renderings are synonyms. For the exact
meanings of the Hausa words the student is referred to the Hausa-
English Dictionary.
Words to which * is attached are not in general use amongst the Hausas,
and should not he employed without reference to the Hausa-English
Dictionary.
