J-1 EXCHANGE VISITOR RETURN GUARANTEE

I, _____________________________ (Name of Exchange Visitor), the Participant, along with

_________________________, (Name of Guarantor) the Participant’s ____________________, (Mother,
Father or Legal Guardian) understand that the I intend to participate in an Exchange Visitor Program under
the sponsorship of Odyssey International Exchange. A condition of the program participation is that I
comply with all rules and regulations set forth by Odyssey and the Federal Regulations overseeing the
Exchange Visitor Program.

Of critical importance for the proper administration of my program are the following:

1. I must remain in regular contact with my program sponsor, Odyssey International Exchange. This
includes maintaining an active email address and responding to all messages and requests for
information from Odyssey.
2. I must only participate in the Internship or Training program which was assigned to me and
approved by Odyssey. I may not seek out alternative forms of employment beyond what is listed
in my DS-7002 and DS-2019 documents.
3. I must depart the United States when instructed, either at the end of my assigned exchange visitor
program or at the instruction of Odyssey.

Failure to comply with the above-mentioned requirements, or any other requirements outlined in the
Terms and Conditions document, may result in a program termination. A program termination is a serious
and permanent mark on the Exchange Visitor’s immigration record which results in the following:

 Their Exchange Visitor status in the United States will be terminated, meaning they do not have
legal status to be in the U.S. If they are apprehended by U.S. Immigration and Customs officials,
they can be arrested and deported.
 Their Social Security Number will be flagged and unusable.
 Upon attempting to depart the U.S., they will be detained and questioned regarding their visa
overstay and program termination.
 They will receive a permanent infraction on their immigration record which will prevent them or
any family members from ever receiving a U.S. Visa.
 Upon returning to India, they can be prosecuted by Indian authorities under 138 of Negotiable
Instruments Act, 1881 and u/s. 406, 417, 418 & 420 of Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Accordingly, all J-1 Exchange Visitors must depart the United States within 30 days of their program end
date or as instructed by Odyssey. Failure to do so will result in a program termination as described in this
document.
