1. Why did Great Britain have the largest navy in the world?
Great Britain had the largest and most powerful Navy in the world because it had dozens of
battleships and hundreds of destroyer cruisers, made to keep the country strong and protect
trade.

2. Why did Britain and Germany enter into an arms race and why did Britain win?
Britain and Germany entered into an arms race because Germany built her own navy. The
Germans were trying to build a more powerful army to which the British responded by
building more ships and much bigger guns being the key to Britain joining the war.

3. What kind of person served in the Guards Regiments?


The guards regiments passed down as a generational role from father to son involving a
diverse part of British society.

4. How did Belgium involve Britain in the war?


The Belgian coast represented a potential invasion route to the British Isles. For this reason,
Great Britain had guaranteed Belgian neutrality. Belgium and London are united by a Treaty,
convinced that it would not mobilize, but when Great Britain mobilized in support of its

allies, it declared war on Germany.

The Empire basically covered a quarter of the world, goods were brought in from
everywhere, processed and sold. It was a time of great prosperity for the upper and middle
classes. For this they had to make sure that no state was able to dominate the continent.
