MELCHORA AQUINO
Melchora Aquino was born to Juan Aquino and Valentina De Aquino in Banlat, Balintawak,
Quezon City ( formely Bario Banlat, Kalookan). She Became known as “TANDANG S0RA”
because of her age during the Philippine Revolution.
In her native town, Tandang Sora operated a store, which became a refuge for the sick and
wounded revolutionaries. She fed, gave medical attention to, and encouraged the
revolutionaries with motherly advice & prayers.

GABRIELA SILANG
Maria Josefa Gabriela Carino de Silang was a Filipina military leader best known for her role
as the female leader of the Ilocano independence movement. Gabriela Silang was born in
Barangay Caniogan, Santa Ilocos Sur.

She is remembered as the “Joan of Arc. Of Ilocandia”.

MARCELO H. DEL PILAR

 Was a Filipino writer, lawyer, journalist, and freeman. Del Pilar, along with Jose Rizal
and Graciano Lopez Jaena, became known as the Leaders of the Reform Movement
in Spain.
 Del Pilar was born and brought up in Bulakan, Bulacan.
 Del Pilar was one of the Leading figure of the Philippine anti-friar movement in the
late 19th century.
