THE NARROW WAY

“People Need the Lord”

Everyday they pass me by, I can see it in their eyes.

Empty people filled with care, headed who knows where.
On they go through private pain living fear to fear
Laughter hides their silent cry only Jesus hears,

CHORUS:
People need the Lord, People need the Lord at the end of broken dreams He’s
the open door. People need the Lord, People need the Lord, when will we realize
people need the Lord.

We are called to take his light to a world where wrong seems right
What could be to great a cost for sharing life with one who’s lost.
Through his love our hearts can feel all the grief the bare
We must share the words of life only we can share.

CHORUS:
People need the Lord, People need the Lord at the end of broken dreams He’s
the open door. People need the Lord, People need the Lord, when will we realize
that we must give our lives for people need the Lord.
“As We Sail to Heaven’s Shore”

Storms may rise on seas unknown,

while we journey toward our home.
Surely we’ll learn what grace is for,
as we sail to Heaven’s shore.

Send us strength, O pilgrim guide,

sin would drown us in its tide.
Be close at hand and go before,
as we sail to Heaven’s shore

Holy Spirit, lead us on, Give us courage, bring the song.

Lord we trust Your Father’s care,

will convey us safely there,
Open or seal off every door,
as we sail to Heaven’s shore.

Straighten our course with every prayer,

Let Heaven’s breezes speed us there,
And grant us mercy ever more.
As we sail to Heaven’s shore.

Draw us near, O finest friend,

from dawn’s light to evenings end.
Each passing day, we love you more,
as we sail to Heaven’s shore,

As we sail to Heaven’s shore.

“He Who Began a Work in You”

Chorus:
He who began a good work in you,
He who began a good work you
Will be faithful to complete it,
He’ll be faithful to complete it in you.
He who started the work
will be faithful to compete it in you.

If the struggle you’re facing

is slowly replacing your hope with despair,
Or the process is long
and your losing your song in the night
You can be sure
that the Lord has His hand on you
Safe and secure He will never abandon you
You are His treasure and He finds His pleasure in you.
He who started the work
will be faithful to complete it you.

Chorus:
He who began a good work in you,
He who began a good work you
Will be faithful to complete it,
He’ll be faithful to complete it in you.
He who started the work
will be faithful to compete it in you.
“Chasing of the Wind”

Every heart is filled with longing

to be free from all life’s pain
Yet the search through earthly pleasures
always ends in vain
Only God who made the heavens
can satisfy our souls

Chorus:
Apart from Him, and all His meaning
all things fail as they begin
And hearts deceived can only know a chasing of the wind

All achievements all possessions

all with time return to dust
Only God can be our reason
for deep and quiet trust
He will guard us from the dangers
that gladly make men fools

Chorus:
Apart from Him, and all His meaning
all things fail as they begin
And hearts deceived can only know a chasing of the wind

Why do we live without Jesus?

Why do we waste another day?
He is the life that sustains us
the only hope for us today
So why do we live,
why do we live without Him?
“Oh, I Want to Know You More”

Just the time I feel

that I been caught in the mire of self,
Just the time I feel
my mind’s been bought by worldly wealth,
That’s when the breeze begins to blow,
I know the Spirit’s call
And all my worldly wonderings
just melt into His love.

Chorus:
Oh, I want to know you more,
deep within my soul I want to know you.
Oh, I want to know you,
to feel your heart and know your mind,
Looking in your eyes stirs up within me
cries that say I want to know you
Oh, I want to know you more

When my daily deeds

ordinarily lose life and song
My heart begins to bleed
sensitivity to Him is gone
I’ve run the race but,
set my own pace and face a shattered soul
Now, the gentle arms of
Jesus warm my hunger to be whole.

Chorus:
Oh, I want to know you more,
deep within my soul I want to know you.
Oh, I want to know you,
to feel your heart and know your mind,
Looking in your eyes stirs up within me
cries that say I want to know you
Oh, I want to know you more.
“Find Us Faithful”

We’re pilgrims on the journey of the narrow road

And those who’ve gone before line the way
Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary
Their lives a stirring testament to God’s sustaining grace.

Surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses

Let us run the race not only for the prize
But as those who’ve gone before us,
let us leave to those behind us
The heritage of faithfulness passed on through Godly lives

Chorus:
O may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the foot prints that we leave lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
O may all who come behind us find us faithful

After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone
And our children sift through all we’ve left behind
May the clues that they discover,
and the memories they uncover
Become the light that leads them to
the road we each must find

Chorus:
O may all who come behind us find us faithful
May the fire of our devotion light their way
May the foot prints that we leave lead them to believe
And the lives we live inspire them to obey
O may all who come behind us find us faithful.
“Run The Race”

Can you see that we are surrounded

By so great a cloud of witnesses
Those who paid the price, the complete sacrifice
Those of whom this world were not worthy

Chorus:
Let us run, run, run the race with endurance
Laying aside every weight, casting aside every sin
Let us run, run fixing our eyes on the Son,
Looking to Him, finishing what we’ve begun, Let us run

And now you see that we are entrusted,

With continuing what others started,
They have passed the baton,
straight and fast til we’ve won,
We will run to Him who is Holy

Chorus:
So, Let us run, run, run the race with endurance
Laying aside every weight, casting aside every sin
Let us run, run fixing our eyes on the Son,
Looking to Him, finishing what we’ve begun, Let us run

Oh, and yes there are some who have stumbled, fallen
God only knows, I am one
Still I press toward the goal, for the Lord who is calling me
He’s gone before, He’s my reward, when I am done

Chorus:
Let us run, run, run the race with endurance
Laying aside every weight, casting aside every sin
Let us run, run fixing our eyes on the Son,
Looking to Him, finishing what we’ve begun, Let us run!
“Then They Will Know”

I will speak, I will wait,

I will send prophets among them, that they might hear,
That they might see and understand how much I love them.

Then they will know that I am father.

Then they will know I am Lord.
They’ll walk with Me and be my people.
I’ll walk with them as their God. As their God

I will strike, I will scourge

And carry out vengeance upon them.
But I will heal the wounds I make
and tenderly take them back to me.

Then they will know that I am Savior

I am Redeemer and Friend.
Immanuel, the God that is with them,
The God who gives all He can

He is Salvation, He is the Kingdom

To Know Him is paradise

He will come, my own Son,

a Word Faithful hearts can’t help hearing
And by His death, with His last breath,
A father’s forgiveness comes flowing.

Then they will know that I am father.

Then they will know I am Lord.
They’ll walk with Me and be my people.
I’ll walk with them as their God. As their God
“Traveling the Narrow Way”

We were prepared for the journey

with our wagons loaded down.
We had all the things we needed
and some more of what we had found,
But as the road then narrowed
so the wagons could not climb,
We journeyed on with horses
leaving things of ours behind.

Chorus:
Traveling the narrow way up the steep and windy road.
A smooth white wall on one side and a precipice below.
As we journey on the way grows smaller still.
Stripped of all earthly support we cling unto His will.

To save ourselves from falling

we pressed close to the wall.
Our luggage was interfering
we cut it loose and let it fall.
At such times we were fearful
and our bodies began to sway,
A hand seemed to take the bridle
and guide us over the way.

Chorus:
Traveling the narrow way up the steep and windy road.
A smooth white wall on one side and a precipice below.
As we journey on the way grows smaller still.
Stripped of all earthly support we cling unto His will.

With our horses now left behind us

we traveled on in single file.
Our feet exposed to grip the rocks
we were fearful all the while.
Small cords came down from above us
to keep our balance on the path
“We have hold from above” we were shouting,
it seemed like this is all we had.

Chorus:
Traveling the narrow way up the steep and windy road.
A smooth white wall on one side and a precipice below.
As we journey on the way grows smaller still.
Stripped of all earthly support we cling unto His will.
From those not used to hardship
we heard complaints time and again.
While they chose to stay behind
we eagerly pressed on to the end.
The wall once white and beautiful
now had a bloody stain.
If others were able to pursue this course
then we can do the same!

Chorus:
Traveling the narrow way up the steep and windy road.
A smooth white wall on one side and a precipice below.
As we journey on the way grows smaller still.
Stripped of all earthly support we cling unto His will.

Where our narrow path now ended

lay a chasm deep and wide.
Scene of beauty beyond compare
await us on the other side!
Again in whispered anguish
we breathed who holds the cord?
Assured it none but God Himself
we swung on to our reward!

Chorus:
Traveling the narrow way up the steep and windy road.
A smooth white wall on one side and a precipice below.
As we journey on the way grows smaller still.
Stripped of all earthly support we cling unto His will.

Stripped of all earthly support we cling unto His will.
