Ondricek: The Book of Mistakes

Book Review
The Book of Mistakes

The Book of Mistakes is a story about changing your perspective.

Quirky illustrations in black ink and pastel colored pencil are changed
from a first sketch with an apparent shortcoming to a fantastical story.
An unfortunate ink splatter is transformed into a clever hat, a too-long
leg altered for tree climbing, and so on. The artist-narrator explains
each scene as a mistake-turned-opportunity, thereby providing a
Author valuable life lesson.
Corinna Luyken
This lovely picture book provides an appropriate moral for readers of
Illustrator all ages, encouraging them to see the opportunities in their so-called
Corinna Luyken
mistakes. This book would even be fascinating without words to
accompany the images, making it accessible to children still decoding.
Reviewer A perfect example for teaching growth mindset in an educational
Bailey Ondricek
setting, or simply as a gorgeous read-aloud, this book will easily
Rating become a favorite for both children and adults.
