Gemma North, 22, is at the University of

Manchester.
Medicine is a hard subject and I often have to stay up
late to study. However, I like working hard and I
enjoy the subject. I’m very sociable and I have lots of
friends in the drama club. The most difficult thing
about university is living with new people. I didn’t
enjoy the first year because I didn’t like my
housemates, but now I live with three friends and it’s
great.
Auriane Bourque, 19, is at University College
London.
I’m from a small town in France so London is very
expensive for me. Even though money is a problem, I
love it here. There are lots of international students,
like me. I’m very easy-going and meeting people
from different countries is fun for me. There are so
many opportunities to do interesting things; for
example, I’m very artistic, so I joined the drawing
club.
Mark Roberts, 21, is at the University of Birmingham.
The most difficult thing for me was making friends.
Anyone starting university should join a club like I
did; it’s a great way to meet people. There are clubs
for all interests, so everyone will be able to find
something for them. My engineering course is hard,
and I have to study most evenings. When you’re a
student you have to be very organized, and you
mustn’t miss any lectures
