1. What does it mean that there are generations who want to keep themselves "pure and sterile"?
What does this say about immigration issues in Australia?

The statement “pure and sterile” tells us that it should be white or Australians should only live there,
which indicates racism.

2. Why did the white men rampage against colored people? How do you feel about this?

Because they are being racist and don't like other colored people living in their place. I feel sad and
annoyed about their thinking and actions they did during that time.

3. Why did the colored people take their revenge? How do you feel about this?

They take revenge to show that they disagree about their actions and want to protest and protect
themselves. I feel sad because they did it with violence instead of talking it out.

4. In this discussion about immigration and race, where does the Filipino come in? Why is this an
important concern for Filipinos?

Us Filipinos usually work abroad or outside of our country, which concerns their living style and
working place.

5. Did the poem change the way you look at living or working abroad? Did it change the way you
view Australia? Why or why not?

It didn’t change my perspective in working abroad because not all people are racist and I know there
are good people who accept each other's races.
6. The last line says, "So racializing, this soap." What does it mean?

This statement tells us that discrimination, unfairness, and stereotypes to each race should be stop
and erase from our generations.
