Neighborhood Guide

Athens, Greece

Athens is a city that can be enjoyed by anyone from honeymooners to night life
enthusiasts who all want to move at their own pace. The city streets tell a story written over
thousands of years and encourage wandering and getting lost.

The best way to spend a sunny afternoon is exploring the street vendors in the flea
market neighborhood of Monastiraki. Dancing and night life can be enjoyed in the Monastiraki
Square with it’s most notable landmark being the Tsisdarakis Mosque.

A few steps over from Monastiraki is the quaint corner of Athens known as Plaka. Sitting
directly under the Acropolis, the Plaka neighborhood has pedestrian only streets covered in
hanging trees and plants. You may feel as though you are visiting one of the sought after Greek
islands.

Kypseli, which has the Greek translation of beehive, is known to be one of the coolest
neighborhoods in Greece. Kypseli is full of artistic restaurants, cafes, and architecture. Kypseli
has been in a period of rebirth so there is guaranteed to be a new unique discovery for you to
find.

On your next trip to the Greek isles don’t forget to stop and smell the gyros of Athens and
hang out for a few days.
