Abstract:

This research investigates the influence of Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices on
employees' Organizational Citizenship Behavior for the Environment (OCBE) in the Ready-Made
Garments (RMG) sector of Bangladesh. The study focuses on three specific GHRM practices: Green
Training, Green Performance Management, and Green Employee Involvement. The research objective is
to explore the extent to which these practices are related to OCBE among employees in the RMG sector.
Through a survey-based approach, data were collected from a sample of employees working in various
RMG organizations. The collected data were then analyzed using statistical techniques to test the
hypotheses. The findings reveal significant positive relationships between all three GHRM practices
(Green Training, Green Performance Management, and Green Employee Involvement) and employees'
Organizational Citizenship Behavior for the Environment. The study contributes to the theoretical
foundation of GHRM and sheds light on the importance of adopting sustainable HRM practices in the
manufacturing sector to foster a culture of environmental responsibility. The research provides valuable
insights for organizations seeking to promote sustainability and environmental stewardship among their
workforce, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being of the organization and the environment.
