Queen Victoria, born in 1819, was the longest-reigning monarch in British history.

She ascended to the

throne at the young age of 18 and ruled for over 63 years until her death in 1901.

Despite her youth, Queen Victoria was a strong and confident leader. She oversaw significant changes in
British society, including the expansion of the British Empire and the Industrial Revolution.

Victoria's reign was marked by a number of significant events, including the Crimean War and the Great
Exhibition of 1851. She also played an important role in promoting women's rights and education, and
was a patron of the arts.

However, Queen Victoria is perhaps best known for her personal life. She married Prince Albert in 1840,
and they had nine children together. After Albert's death in 1861, Victoria went into mourning for many
years, wearing black and withdrawing from public life.

Despite this personal tragedy, Queen Victoria remained a beloved figure throughout her reign and
beyond. Her legacy is still felt in British society today, and she remains an important symbol of British
history and culture.
