Chocolate cake is a classic dessert that is loved by many.

Here's a recipe for a moist and rich

chocolate cake that you can try:

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water

For the chocolate frosting:

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans with cooking
spray.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking
soda, and salt until well combined.
3. Add the milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the flour mixture and beat with an
electric mixer on medium speed for 2 minutes.
4. Stir in the boiling water until the batter is well combined. The batter will be thin, but this is
normal.
5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a
toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
6. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing them from the pans and
placing them on a wire rack to cool completely.

For the chocolate frosting:

1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and cocoa powder together until well
combined.
2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, beating on low speed until the
frosting is smooth and spreadable.
3. Once the cakes have cooled completely, place one cake layer on a cake plate or stand.
Spread a layer of chocolate frosting on top of the cake layer.
4. Place the second cake layer on top of the frosting and spread another layer of frosting on top
and around the sides of the cake.
5. Decorate the cake as desired and serve.
You can store the chocolate cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in
the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
