Assistant curator

Duration: 8 – 16 months

Do you feel an urgency to gain experience and further develop your practice as a
contemporary art curator? This is your chance! We have an opening for an assistant
curator for 16/24 hours per week. This learning-by-doing position is aimed at gaining
practical experience in exhibition-making, the day-to-day running of an art organization,
honing your writing skills, researching, and studio visits.

Responsibilities:

provide artists with curatorial support


conduct research and studio visits
writing texts, like exhibitions texts, concepts, essays, and critiques
fundraising and administration
day-to day running of an art organization

Requirements:

passion for contemporary art


team player and a quick mind
reflection and networking skills
excellent writing skills in English (and possibly Dutch, which we consider an
advantage)
planning and administrating skills
university graduate, art history, culture and media, philosophy, curatorial studies or
similar
skills in Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom or WordPress welcome

We are looking for an emerging curator. A positive attitude, strong work ethics,
punctuality, and internalised care are essential to the position. We offer a learn-work
trajectory including mentoring, a projectbasis payment, an off-peak train travel card and
cost reimbursement.
