KONNAKOL Konnakol (also spelled Konokol, Konakkol, Konnakkol) is the art of performing percussion syllables vocally in South Indian Carnatic music. It allows the composition, performance or communication of rhythms. A similar concept in Hindustani classical music is called padhant. Simple groups to start counting: 1... Da 2... Ta - Ka 3... Ta - Ki - Ta 4... Ta - Ka - Di - Mi 5... Ta - Da - Gi- Na - Ka 5 (my variation)... Ta - Ka - Di - Mi - Ti To count long and odd patterns, you can divide them into smaller groups of 2, 3, or 4 and count with these rhythmic syllables. This will make it easier for you to play in time and you can also count much faster! ED GUITAR COMMUNITY
