Difference of Research Paper and Term Paper
Difference of Research Paper and Term Paper
Research Paper
A research paper is an academic paper that presents the results of an original study or investigation on
a particular topic. It is a formal document that aims to contribute new knowledge to a specific field
of study. The research paper is usually longer than a term paper and requires students to conduct
extensive research, analyze data, and present their findings in a structured format. The main objective
of a research paper is to develop and support a thesis statement, which is a central argument that the
author is trying to prove.
Term Paper
A term paper is an academic paper that students write at the end of a semester or academic term. It is
a comprehensive document that summarizes the knowledge and skills students have acquired during
the term. Unlike a research paper, a term paper does not require students to conduct original research.
Instead, it requires students to demonstrate their understanding of a particular topic by analyzing and
synthesizing existing research. The main objective of a term paper is to assess students' knowledge
and understanding of a specific subject.
