Hello! When my school first got a class set of Ukuleles, I had a challenging
time finding songs that were easy enough for the students to play using
only a few chords. I spent hours weeding through songs that only needed a
few chords, and I ended up compiling this list of songs. Hopefully it will
save you some time!
These songs will only include C, Am, F, G, Em, Dm, and D chords. Some
of the songs have 7th or 9th chords, but I have my students take them
out at the beginning, so I did not include them in this list. A few songs
on the list I modify to take out bad words. I labeled these songs in my
list as needing alternate lyrics. Also, some of the keys will be different
from the original, but most are in C, F, or G. Usually the first chord in
the set is the tonic.
Pro Tip: MANY of these songs have Ukulele play along videos on Youtube
that are amazing. My students have a great time playing along with them.
