5. "Children need teachers to demonstrate how to enter into and explore the world of literature, just as
children learning a language need an adult whe shows them how the language functions in the everyday

Answer:

1. “Readers are made not born” (Chambers, 1983)

- This means that readers are not innate; they have to be learned with the guidance of those
around them. Also, this refers to the fact that reading is a skill to appreciate literature; it
does not exist within you when you are born, but nevertheless, it is an ability of yours.
This also means that we are all capable of being readers, regardless of how you interpret
the text or how slowly you read. This also implies the importance of nurturing being a
reader at a young age; you should make it a habit of yours. Reading is not only
comprehending the text but also engaging with what the text means. This line also
suggested the role of reading in your education and in yourself as an individual.

2. "Literature is more experienced than taught”. (Glazer, 1986)

- It indicates that the essential meaning of literature lies in the feelings and experiences it
causes in people, not in its academic interpretation. Literature has the capacity to shift
you into another world; it allows us to feel emotion and perspective of what we are
reading. Literature provides an escape to reality. This line implies that literature is not
only for academic purposes but also to experience what the character really feels. It
highlights that genuine comprehension originates from individual experiences obtained
by reading and analyzing literary works.
