Equipment List Advisory

*List as of 2 December 2021. Subject to Change. Compiled by the ISA TCC Rules Committee.

The ISA Rules committee has put together the following list to clarify which mechanical and mechanically
aided stationary rope work positioning devices are currently approved for use in ISA tree climbing
competitions. This list is subject to change.

All approved devices need to be used in accordance with Manufacturer’s guidelines.

Mechanical and mechanically aided stationary rope work positioning devices


• Petzl ID - Approved
• Petzl Rig - Approved
• ISC & Singing tree, Rope wrench – Approved (CE version only in Europe)
• Taz Lov2 - Approved
• Taz Lov3 – Approved (Planned updates to the ISA ITCC Rulebook will prevent any contradiction or
prohibition in use of this equipment. The Taz Lov3 is approved for use at ISA TCC events as of 2
December 2021).
• Petzl Chicane zigzag and zigzag+ - Approved
• Rock exotica Akimbo - Approved (Only to be used with approved ropes, read user instructions)
• Rock exotica Unicender - NOT approved
• ISC D4 - Approved
• ISC D5 - Approved
• Bulldog bone - NOT approved
• Singing tree Rope runner - NOT approved
• Notch Rope Runner Pro – Approved (CE version only in Europe)
• SpiderJack 2& 3 – Approved (for moving rope applications)

Any other mechanical and mechanically aided stationary rope work positioning device absent from this
list, is not approved.
