CHECKPOINT #2
Identify the seven(7) different pricing strategies used by businesses and in your own words,
briefly describe each. Afterwards, decide on what you think is the most effective pricing strategy
for your product and business from BTT#1. Use the separate worksheet for your answers. 30
Points. Identification of Pricing Strategies - 3 points each (1 point-Name of Strategy; 2 points-
Definition) Pricing Strategy for the Business - 9 points (5 points-Main Idea; 4 points-Supporting
Ideas)

Pricing Strategy Description

1)Buy-one, take one free If you buy one of the products you will have one of the same products
for free. It helps you to save a lot of money instead of buying two.
And for the side of the seller it would help to sell more of their
products and gain more customers.

2) Buy-two take 1 This promo says that if you buy two of their products you get to have
one of the same products for free. It also helps you save money.
Pricing Strategy Description
3)Freebie A freebie is a free stuff that comes with the product you bought.

4)Price skimming Price skimming is launching a product with a higher amount compared
to the original markup.

5)Discount Discount is when they will deduct the price to make it cheaper for
customers to buy it and for them to gain more customers and profit.

6) Competitive Competitive is the rivalry between two companies/ business selling the
same product. Ex: Jollibee and McDonalds.

7)Psychological pricing Psychological pricing practices setting prices lower than a whole
number. For Example, 5999php the price is still 6000php it is just a 1
peso difference but people still buy the product thinking that it’s
cheaper.

Pricing Strategy for Business:

I chose Freebies as a pricing strategy for our business because people love freebies and is one way
of encouraging people to buy our product. People tend to buy our product if there are freebies that
they think are useful. Ex: Bags, jacket, umbrella etc.
