Outcomes are defined: Learning is targeted to achieve very specific learning outcomes. It is clear what the
children need to learn.

Canadian performance standards are applied: Canadian performance standards determine the learning
outcomes. Maple Bear students are expected to achieve performance levels similar to Canadians.

Curriculum development for English-language subjects is done in Canada by Canadian experts.

Canadian style teaching strategies are implemented: Canadian teaching strategies encourage student
independence, strong literacy skills, higher level thinking and problem solving.

A sophisticated set of learning resources are used: Learning resources include books, manipulative
materials, visual materials, electronic media, and computer technology.

Assessment of student learning is based on Canadian standards. In all cases, Canadian programming
exceeds the requirements of local elementary education authorities in each country.

over 20 years
Starbeam™ framework is designed to build a solid foundation for preschoolers to develop holistically
through our learning approaches. Closely aligned to the “Nurturing Early Learners” curriculum framework
set out by the Ministry of Education

Robotics and Coding Programme
Ballet Programme
Aerobics and Yoga Programme
Art, Music and PE
Our strength is in our continuity. With the same founder director, low staff turnover and a single location,
we are proud to have alumni who have joined top international and local schools and proceeded to top
ranked universities in Singapore, UK, USA, Australia, Canada and Europe.

Our strength is also our size. We have not franchised or expanded to ensure that children who attend Little
Woods Montessori receive the highest quality pre-school experience in a wholly unique environment. We
have an outstanding heritage.

We believe in Discovery. At Little Woods Montessori, the class, curriculum and environment are tailored to
a child’s growth. We do not impart knowledge; rather we create the tools for children to discover. It is
through discovery that they learn the joy of continued learning through their primary, secondary and even
graduate years.

The primary purpose of the Montessori method is developing children cognitively, physically, socially, and
emotionally to be independent thinkers and self-directed leaders.

We invite you to schedule a personal tour to discover for yourself the dynamic and thriving environment of
Little Woods Montessori.

Considered one of Singapore’s few “true blue”

Montessori schools in Singapore, Greentree
Montessori was founded more than two
decades ago by a directress with both AMI
and AMS certifications – in fact, she’s an AMS
trainer herself.

MMI is in no way affiliated with AMI, though

they do have a training centre in Singapore, so
many teachers are trained there. There are
more than 20 MMI preschools across the
island incorporating traditional Montessori
materials and adhering to the four core values
of practical life, sensorial, language and
mathematics, but the consensus seems to be
that it’s very different from a traditional
Montessori environment. Classes are not
mixed-age.
Teachers are not AMI-certified
