It emphasises to end al fy and eliminate violence and exploitation against women. The concept of women’s empowerment refers to the increase in women’s “options, choices, control and power.” It is recognized as the Sustainable Development Goal 5 and a right as well as a transformative tool with a multiplier effect for achieving progress in all other areas of social and ‘economic development. Patriarchy or a male-dominated society is one that benefits men in laws, education, academia, and day-to-day life but as the axiom goes, a woman is the ‘architect of a family, a nation, and the whole world’, thereby, the growing conversation about the acute need for gender equality and women empowerment is the necessity of the time. Awareness is to be created among the society about the true worth and power of women. It is high time to elevate a clarion call to accelerate sitive changes in the way women are looked upon. Moreover, the realization is mounting that equality is no more a women-centric issue but an economic one. It is only in an egalitarian society that organizations and nations will realize their fullest potential and prosper. Like men, women should be made free and independent to make their own decisions. The idea of gender equality should not remain in thoughts but be implemented. Taking some small and honest steps could in a true sense help us promoting equality and ‘empowerment for our women and free them from the shackles of the patriarchal mind-set. The proposed seminar will prove to be a milestone towards the endorsement of Sustainable Development Goal 5 i.e., Gender Equality, as it will provide a platform for the young scholars, academicians, and professionals in expressing their views & suggest ways to improve and be sensitized towards the women’s conditions.
