SECTION 3:WORDPROCESSING

DOCUMENT 1
1. Each student must complete and submit an entry form to the organizer of the tournament.
You are required to:
Design a fillable form which must allow for the entry of relevant data on the student,
including team name, form, form teacher name, year supervisor’s name, no. of players
and the list of team members and their date of birth. The letter head of the department
must be included at the top with the department’s address and contact information. The
font should be appropriately formatted for emphasis.

2. The information relating to the tournament must be sent to all the Parents/Guardian.
Using a suitable feature of your word processing application:
a) Create a letter on the department’s letterhead (should be consistent with the letterhead
used in the fillable registration form) which should be mailed to the Year supervisors.
The requirements for the letter are:

 The Physical Education department’s logo and letterhead should be placed as


the header in the letter. The font of the letterhead should be appropriately
formatted for emphasis.
 must be designed on letter sized paper with 0.7 margins on the left and right
sides
 Must include a salutation
 the first paragraph should outline the purpose of the competition
 the second paragraph should read ‘PLEASE SEE THE TABLE BELOW FOR
THE DATES FOR THE FIRST LEG OF THE FORM COMPETITION’
 a summary of tables should be included with at least 7 rows and two columns
with appropriate formats
 close with your name (using the signature line feature if using Microsoft
word) and position
 The third paragraph inviting him/her to visit the website to view information
about the tournament (ensure to provide a link there)SAVE AS PRIMARY
LETTER
b) Create a data source with the following fields: title, first name, last name, year group
and email address. SAVE AS YEAR SUPERVISOR INFO. Data source can be
created using spreadsheet or database application
c) Using the primary letter, insert the merged fields in the appropriate section of the
primary letter and save as SECONDARY LETTER
d) Complete the mail merge and save as MERGED LETTER
