performance of control system, maximum equipment availability and instrument accuracy of the Coal
Handling and Ash Handling Plant area (CHP & AHP) to achieve business goals & objectives Job
Requirements Qualification : B.E – Instrumentation/Electronics Work Experience : Atleast 2-3 years of
experience in C&I maintenance in CHP & AHP of Thermal Power plant of Capacity > 100 MW Special
Requirements : ▪ Knowledge of P&ID, PLC, SCADA, Fly & Wet ash conveying system, Geho Pumps, Mass
flowmeter, ash density, Level transmitters ▪ Knowledge of Conveyor system, Weighing system, Safety
switches, Conveyor guarding system, Stacker Reclaimer, Truck Tippler system, AUGER system instruments
and Control system ▪ Maintenance planning and usage of ERP packages like SAP ▪ Knowledge of quality tools
like 5S/TPM/TQM/Six Sigma and Management system like ISO ▪ Knowledge of Statutory requirements and
International standards & codes related to C&I ▪ Handling of contractors/business partners i.e. contract
management skills ▪ Ability and drive to work cooperatively as a member of the team through implementation
of initiatives like coaching & mentoring, employee engagement, two way communication, reward &

AHP: • Should have good knowledge in Troubleshooting of issues in PLCs, reading of existing logics and
should be able to make desired changes in Logics of PLC and SCADA in Ash Handling Plant • Must have
good knowledge in Ash Conveying system and should have good trouble shooting skills to restore the system
in case of breakdown • Should have good knowledge in maintenance and troubleshooting of Geho system •
Should have sufficient knowledge in maintenance of instruments in Ash Handling plant such as density meter,
various flowmeters, level transmitters • Should conduct Safety Survey of density meter and submit the same to
RSO, a legal requirement. • Should have sufficient knowledge in fire system to ensure reliable functioning of
the same. CHP: • Should have good knowledge in Troubleshooting of issues in PLCs, reading of existing logics
and should be able to make desired changes in Logics of PLC and SCADA in Coal Handling Plant • Should
have good knowledge and trouble shooting skills in Conveying system, Conveyor guarding system, Truck
Tippler system, Stacker Reclaimer system and AUGER system. • Must have good knowledge in calibration
and maintenance of weighing system to ensure accuracy and reliability. Should be responsible for periodical
calibration and certification of Belt scale measurement, a legal requirement. • Responsible for proper
functioning of the protection system and should ensure that none is bypassed • Should have knowledge in Fire
Fighting system of Conveyor and ensure entire system is functioning properly Skills Desired Skills ▪ Should
develop a system and SMP so that to improve availability of Equipment’s without compromising on safety and
quality ▪ Should be able to coordinate with intra and inter departments for improving availability and reliability
▪ Should adhere to Vedanta safety standards for maintenance ensuring safety ▪ Should develop/maintain the
existing system for reduction of breakdown, repeated defects and improve efficiency and reliability ▪ Should
be expert in SAP for identifying requirement of spares, making PR and converting them into POs. Should
follow up with vendors for getting the material delivered on time. ▪ Should be able to drive systems for
successful implementation of IMS as per standards, VSAP, 5S in CHP and AHP area
