Slip Sensation or Sluggish Acceleration from a Stop
While working on a 2009-2011 Ford Taurus, Edge, Flex, 2011 Explorers, Lincoln MKS, MKT , MKX
equipped with a 6F50 or 6F55 transmission (with MERCON LV listed on the dipstick), you may experi-
ence a slip sensation or sluggish acceleration from a stop, followed by a bump sensation. Ford Motor
Co. has determined that this concern may be caused by a valve body concern. Ford recommends re-
moving a check ball from the valve body, replacing both separator plates and reprogramming the PCM
with the latest update. Separator plate part numbers are BT4Z-7Z490-B and 7T4Z-7Z490-D. These new
design separator plates are available from your local dealership parts department.
