Mutual Fund – Transfer in (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. What is a Transfer-In?
a. Transfer-In is a process of transferring all your mutual funds holding
(outside the domain of ICICI Direct) to ICICI Direct domain

2. How can I do a Transfer-In?


a. Transfer-In can be done by logging into ICICI Direct.com with your
credentials & navigating to the path: Mutual Funds > Transfer-In > Click
on Initiate Digital Transfer In and upload your CAS Statement.
b. Post upload you need to select the folio’s which you would like to
Transfer-In.
c. Once you submit your request, you will need to take a print out of the
application form, sign the form & upload it on the TI page or TI Order Book
for further processing with RTA/AMC

3. What is a CAS?
a. CAS stands for Consolidated Account Statement is a single consolidate
statement of all the investments done by you in the securities market

4. Which CAS statements can be used for Transfer-In


a. You can upload the CAS from NSDL or from CAMS. Note, it should be a
Consolidated Account Statement & not a summary

5. From where can I get my NSDL CAS Statement?


a. NSDL sends the updated CAS on a monthly basis to your registered email
ID
b. Follow below steps to find the latest CAS:
i. Check your mail box for an email from NSDL (sender’s mail ID:
NSDL-CAS@nsdl.co.in)
ii. Subject Line: Your NSDL CAS - <October 2022> (NSDL ID –
123456789)
iii. Download the PDF file in this mail

6. From where can I get the CAMS CAS?


a. You can visit -
https://www.camsonline.com/Investors/Statements/Consolidated-Account-
Statement & click on CAS-CAMS option on this page
b. On this page, you need to provide your email & select the option of With
zero balance folios under Folio listing & select ‘All’ as an option in MF drop
down
c. Post that you need to set a customize password & click on Submit
d. You will receive the CAS from CAMS immediately on your registered
email address.

7. NSDL CAS is password protected? What is the password to open the file?
a. Password to open the CAS is: Sole/first holder PAN in capital letters.

8. Do I have to upload the form for all the folios for which I have placed a TI request
in one go?
a. We recommend you select value of ‘Document Awaited’ in the status field
drop down & then check the Select box (which will select all the folios) &
click on Upload – thus ensuring you need not do multiple uploads.

9. What if I do not sign on the TI request form & upload the same?
a. In case the TI form is not signed by you, the same will get processed from
our end but the application for Transfer in will be rejected by the RTA.

10. After I have uploaded the TI form, can I delete the request & upload a new form
a. Till the time the status of your TI request does not change to ‘Sent to
Registrar’ you can delete your TI request by clicking on ‘Cancel’ in the
Action column. Once the status gets changed to ‘Sent to Registrar’ you will
not be able to cancel/delete your request.
11. Are there any restrictions to the number of folios for which I can place a Transfer
in request for?
a. No, there are no restrictions on the number of folios for which you can
place a TI request for.

12. Will I be able to transact from ICICI Direct for all my MF Transactions?
a. Yes, you only have to login to the ICICI Direct platform for any transactions
that you may want to do in future

13. What is the time for processing the TI request?


a. The Turn Around Time (TAT) for the Transfer-In process is 4 to 6 working
days, post receipt of a valid Transfer In request form (signed by the
primary holder)

14. What do I gain by transferring all my investments to the ICICI Direct Platform?
a. You get access to all your investments at one single place, research
recommendation on your holdings & also plenty of other investment
options like Fixed Deposits, Bonds, Insurance, NPS & more other products

15. Will I be charged for transferring my investments to ICICI Direct platform?


a. No, this service is absolutely free of cost

16. When I transfer my investments to ICICI Direct, will it have any impact on the
current valuation OR the investment amount?
a. There will be absolutely no impact on your investment amount OR the
current valuation when you transfer your external holdings

17. Are there any minimum investment amount criteria to avail this facility?
a. No, there is no cut off OR any criteria pertaining to minimum investment
amount for you to opt for transferring your external investments to ICICI
Direct platform
18. Some of my holdings with other distributor are direct plans, would those direct
plans also be transferred to ICICI direct platform?

a. We will transfer MF holdings which are in regular plans only.

19. Once my external MF Holdings are transferred to the ICICI Direct platform, where
will I be able to see them?

a. Once your MF Holdings are transferred to the ICICI Direct platform, you
will be able to see them in this path: Login to ICICI Direct platform >
Portfolio > Mutual Funds
b. You can also see your holdings in the Unit holdings report

20. For the close ended fund, does it change any lock in period when I do the transfer
to ICICI Direct platform?

a. No. There will be no impact on your investment.

21. What if I have an existing SIP running. Will my SIP be transferred as well?
a. Yes, your entire holdings along with existing SIP will be transferred. There
will be no impact on your running SIP

22. I have some of my investments in mutual funds lying in the demat account with
current distributor, can I transfer those holdings also to the ICICI Direct platform?

a. No, you can only transfer holdings which are currently in the Physical/folio
mode with the distributor to ICICI Direct platform

23. What if any of my investments are in Joint Mode?


a. Your holding pattern should be similar to your trading account. In-case of
holding mismatch request might be rejected by RTA

24. Do I have to re- update the nomination details for MF?


a. No, you do not need to re-update your nomination detail.
25. Do I have to fill any kind of DIS slips to transfer my holdings to the ICICI Direct
platform?
a. No. Since you are transferring only your physical/folio based holdings,
there is no need for you to fill in any kind of DIS slip

26. Can I upload an older CAS if I have the same with me?
a. Yes, you can upload older CAS, however to transfer all the latest
investments that you may have done in Mutual funds, we would
recommend you upload the latest statement

27. Can I cancel my Transfer-In order?


a. You can view the status of your Transfer-In request placed through the
below path. You can cancel your order only if it is under process OR the
status of your TI request is ‘Document Awaited’. Once processed
cancellation is not possible
