CONCERT REVIEW

On September the ninth, 2023, my mom, dad and I went to a ballet performance at the
Lisinski in Zagreb. The ballet performance was The Nutcracker. The ballet dancers were
the Ukrainian Classical Ballet.
"The Nutcracker" is a timeless ballet masterpiece composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky
in 1892. The Nutcracker has a very special place in my heart. It was one of the first ballet
performances I had ever seen. The first time was in 2013. I was only seven. Since then, I
have watched The Nutcracker 5 times and I have always enjoyed it very much.
Unfortunately, when there was coronavirus, I could not go, so I watched it on the
internet. The Nutcracker I watched this year was beautiful like always. I already know
almost all the classical musical pieces in the performance. My favourite are The
Tarantella, The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, The Arrival of Clara and the Nutcracker,
The Waltz of the Snowflakes, and The Waltz of the Flowers. Out of all of them I have to
say that I most enjoy The Waltz of the Snowflakes. As Clara and the Nutcracker go
through a snowy forest, they are greeted by a snowfall. The music starts softly, mirroring
the gentle descent of snowflakes, and gradually builds into a majestic waltz. The music
captures the essence of winter and goes perfectly with the choreography. I also must
mention the Pas de Deux that the dancers who play the role of Clara and the Nutcracker
do. It is beautiful and followed by Tchaikovsky's Andante maestoso.
As you can see, I love The Nutcracker and take pleasure in watching it and listening to the
music. I even listen to a playlist of all The Nutcracker pieces by Tchaikovsky while I am
studying.
