BARANGAY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMNT SYSTEM ON WASTE DIVERSION REPORT FROM

JANUARY TO JUNE 2021

 Barangay Ecological Solid Waste Management Committee Established last September

25, 2018 and subsequently took their oath of office. An Orientation on City Ordinance
0361-10 was conducted thereafter.

-The waste segregation is still at 30% compliance due to the interruption caused by the
pandemic.

 MRF

- The Barangay Ecological Solid Waste Management Committee has not yet
established an MRF. They are still in the process of looking for a suitable area for this
purpose. Nonetheless, the residents are already coverting recyclable materials to
money by selling to junkshops located at Purok Sta. Cruz of this barangay.

 Composting

-The Barangay doesn’t have a composting facility due to non-availability of space. As an

alternative, residents are composting in their own backyards.

 Enforcement

The Barangay created the deputized enforcers and monitoring team to assist in the
implementation of City Ordinance No. 0361-10 and conducted an orientation for the
deputized enforcers last September 28, 2018. “An Ordinance for the Creation of
Barangay Ecological Solid Waste Management Committee (BESWMC) and Barangay
Resolution No. 02 Series of 2020 “Resolution for the Adoptation of Barangay Deputize
Enforcers and Monitoring team to assist in the implementation of Davao City Ordinance
No. 0361-10. We have a total of three (3) active SWM Enforcer and Eight (8) members of
the monitoring team.

We have not yet issued citation tickets to SWM violators, as of the moment only verbal
reprimands are imposed.

The barangay have not yet resumed the garbage collection due to covid-19 crisis.
We conducted clean up drives, canal/coastal clean-up, bayanihan for the Month of April
AND June 2021. Attached herewith is the documentation pictures.

We have not conducted trainings and seminars for the SWM for this Year because of
the covid-19 pandemic.
