Objective: To collect the data of age of more than 100 peoples of your community:
a. To make continuous frequency distributions of class size 20, 15, 12, 10, 8 and 5.
b. To construct histograms and the frequency polygons and frequency curves in each
case.
Materials Required:
a. Copy
b. Pen
c. Laptop
d. Printer
Theory:
 A continuous frequency distribution, is a distribution in which information are
arranged in various group continuously.
 Histogram is a diagram consisting of rectangles whose area is proportional to the
frequency of a variable and whose width is equal to the class interval.
 A frequency polygon is a line graph of class frequency plotted against class midpoint.
 Frequency curve is obtained by joining the points of a frequency polygon through a
freehand smoothed curve and not by straight lines.
Procedure:
1. We collected information’s of age of my community of about 110 people which is given below in
table. It took the effort myself and 3 other my cousins to gather all these data. All these data are
collected from locations called “Simruwa” and “Bhairawa”.
2. Collected data were sorted in different class size to make histogram, frequency polygon and
frequency curves.
Collected data are shown in the table:

Observation:
From all these data, it has been concluded that younger people or active population is more
than inactive people in my community.

Result:
We found out that age gap should be balanced in a community so there won’t be any type of
problem related to population and manpower.

Application:
1. To learn about histogram, frequency curves and frequency polygons.
2. We can predict the need of population in future.
3. To understand fertility and mortality rate.
4. To understand the need of work force.
