The borehole was advanced by auger forthe fist few meters and then following with wash boring method tll he ené of boring, The 75 mm diameter casing nd bentonite srry were used for stabilizing the hole in sft lay and sandy material, respectively ‘The disturbed samples were collected in sandy sola 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0 m and every 1.$ m. intervals during the Standard Penetration Test, Ina standard penetration test, a $0.8 mm (2 inches) O.D. spit barrel sampler was driven into the soil stratum with a 63.5 kg safety hammer falling through a distance of 75 em. The number of blow per 30 cm of penetration was taken as the standant pent VALUE. The tests were executed in accordance with ASTM D 1586 resistance N Pocket penetrometer was used to find undained shear strength on all cobesive soil samples in the field. The ground water level was also measured one day after the completion of boring operation 3. PRINCIPLES FOR DESIGN OF SPREAD FOOTING According to evaluste the beating capacity of the soils there are several equations and formulae to solve.
