Curriculum

The purpose putting NJSLS in the curriculum is to provide a framework for educational
consistency and quality. NJSLS is the outline that suggesting what students are expected
to learn and be able to do in each grade in various subject areas. Also, it is a common
language for teachers, parents, and students to evaluate students’ achievement.

Technology nowadays is an integral part of the modern workforce. It helps students
develop skills that are essential for success in the 21st century, such as problem-solving,
critical thinking, and collaboration. It can enhance their learning to be more interactive
and accessible, especially after Covid.

Career Ready Practices

Career Ready Practices (CRP) are a set of skills to prepare students for success in the future
careers. The purpose of putting it into curriculum is to help them to develop this kind of
skill and let them engage more and explore what career they want to be in. Also, it helps
students to build a strong foundation of employability skill in order to make them more
competitive in the job market and increase their chances to get a job in the future.

lesson plans of a particular curriculum. The scope refers to the topics and areas within the
curriculum, while the sequence is the order in which those skills are taught. Its purpose is
to help teachers to plan and organize the curriculum, ensuring that it is comprehensive,
logical, and developmentally appropriate.

Essential Questions
The questions here are open-ended and thought-provoking. It promotes critical thinking
to let students think critically, analyze information, and form their own opinions. Also,
essential questions are the excellent conversation starters to promote discussion and
dialogue. Through the discussion, teachers can know what students already knew and
experienced so that teachers can adjust their instructions.

Reflection Paper

A well-structured curriculum is needed at school. It serves as the roadmap for

learning, outlining the content, skills, and experiences that students are expected to

acquire. Also, it is a crucial tool for teachers, districts, parents, and community member

stakeholders. In this essay, I will discuss how the curriculum at school can benefit teachers,

districts, parents, students, and community members who live, learn, work, play in that

community.

For teachers, a curriculum provides a clear framework for instruction to ensure that

teachers are delivering the necessary content in a consistent and effective manner. It can

guide teachers’ lesson planning, assessment strategies, and professional development

endeavors.

For parents, a curriculum provides them with valuable insights into their child’s

learning journey. Parents can understand the expectations for their child’s academic

progress so that they can engage more into their studies. It creates a supportive learning

environment for students because parents and educators are collaborating.

For students, curriculum provides them with a structured path to knowledge

acquisition, ensuring that they are building upon their prior learning and developing

essential skills. Also, the subjects are tightly linked so that students are learning multiple

areas.

For community member stakeholders, they contribute to school funding through

property taxes, donations, and local sales taxes. They have the right to know what

students are learning. Also, it engages community members as valuable resources, inviting

them to share their expertise and perspectives with students. Students are sharing what

they have learnt.
