VISIT TO (ICUAA)

The Inter-university center for Astronomy and

Astrophysics(IUCAA) is an autonomous institution setup By
the university grants commission (UGC) of india to promote
the nucleation and growth of active groups in Astronomy
and Astrophysics at indian universities.IUCAA aims to be a
centre of excellence within the university sector for
teaching ,research and develop mention in Astronomy and
Astrophysics.
Visit of Astronomy club members is organized to
(IUCAA) On 26 August 2023.Visit at IUCAA helped students
get in touch with the latest technology and have the
expertise views and knowledge To smoothly integrate new
technology solutions with their existing knowledge’s.
Students were introduced within difrent aspects of
Astronomy and Astrophysics.Tell us about Radio Astronomy
and Astrophysics.Tell us about Radio Astronomy which is
used to detect and amplify radio waves from space.Turning
them into signals that astronomers used to enhance our
understanding of the universe radio telescope is an
astronomical instrument cinsisting of a radio receiver and
an antenna system that is used to detect radio-frequency
radiation between wavelength of about 10 Meters emitted
by extraterrestrial source such as stars,Galaxies and
quasars…
 The GMRT is currently the most sensitive fully
operational low frequency radio telescope in the world .In
2020 the GMRT received a special global recognition and it
is also operates the ORT and it is located in the Nilgiri
district at Tamil Nadu and operates at the frequency of
327 MHZ.The GMRT is a versatile instrument and it used
to peruse cutting edge research in a variety of different
fields Like the sun and space weather.Transients,milky way
and the inerseller medium ,Galaxies and clusters of
galaxies ,Cosmology.
The discussion session was very interactive and fruitfuin
view if students perception as NCRA also provides excellent
opportunities for career in astronomy and astrophysics
related topics.
The visit proved to be very fruitful for all students as it
will bring interest in understand automation and control
system engineering.
