“A person who is spiritual but not religious. “A person who is religious but not spiritual.”

Spirituality and religion are mostly intertwined, but there is a significant gap between the two
ideologies. In accordance with Merriam-Webster, spiritual is something ecclesiastical rather than lay
or temporal; it is concerned with religious values. On the contrary, Webster also defined religion as
relating to or manifesting faithful devotion to an acknowledged ultimate reality or deity; relating to
or devoted to religious beliefs or observances.
In the first picture, it is depicted that the person is spiritual but not religious, but how? It
could be seen that the man is looking forward to finding peace of mind. The roots also symbolize the
growth he had and is still having during the journey of finding his peace. It basically justifies the
goal of spirituality, which is to find the meaning of life.
In the second picture, it is the person who is religious but not spiritual. It is depicted that he is
wearing the holy garment, but if we analyze the picture carefully, it could be seen that he has some
kind of fear present in his eyes. Yes, he is religious and all, but does he really know the meaning of
his life? That's why his eyes are somewhat scared. Being a religious and devoted follower isn't bad,
but not knowing your purpose in life is scary. But don't be afraid, as it is stated in Ecclesiastes 3:1
(KJV), To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens.
Spirituality and being religious have their similarities and differences, but we need to respect
those who are just spiritual in nature and those who are fanatic of religious practices. As long as we
render it for the betterment of our lives and society, you shouldn't stop. As long as we respect each
other's beliefs, we will find peace and the meaning of our lives in this world we live in.
