Option 1: Bank robbery

1. The man was woken up by his alarm at 6 am.


2. The coffee had been drunk by his son, so he drank tea.
3. His car had been destroyed by a storm, so he took the bus.
4. He went to the bank but realized it had been robbed.
5. More than $17 million were stolen.
6. No one had been injured in the robbery.
7. He thought: “the thieves need to be found!”
8. He was interviewed by the police.
9. The police told him that the thieves were arrested.
10. The man said: “they should be sent to prison.”

Option 2: A Terrible Day

1. He was woken up very early by his alarm. (C)


2. There was no coffee left because it had been drunk by his son. (E)
3. All the bread had been eaten, so he didn’t have any breakfast. (H)
4. His boss called him and said: “you will not be given the promotion”. (J)
