The narrator had a terrible dream where they were begging for food but no one would help them. Their mother explained that God was teaching them a lesson about how the children they turned away must have felt. The mother reminded them of the Golden Rule: to treat others as you wish to be treated.
In the second document, the narrator's brother Luis was accidentally killed after they had a fight. Luis's last words were asking the narrator to be good, revealing Luis still loved and cared for his brother. Overcome with guilt, the narrator begs God and Luis for forgiveness for causing his brother's death.

I need some food to eat. Give me water to drink. Have pity on me. I’m tired – so weak. Help me please”
I was shouting at the top of my voice, crying out desperately
But nobody would bear me. I was asleep. ..I was dreaming
Mother woke me up while shaking me “Wake up ADRIAN III!
What’s the matter?” “Oh Mother, it was a terrible dream and it seems so real.” “Tell me about it my child” “Yesterday, two small poor children of my age came asking for food. They were so dirty and looked unclean. I didn’t like them so I drove them away.” “What has that to do with your dream?” Asked Mother “Tonight, I just had a very strange dream. . . I was dressed in dirty, old clothes and walked from house to house begging for food. I was very hungry and felt tired and very weak. Each time I knocked on someone’s door, the owner would send me away. I felt so sad and so miserable, Mother.” “What a strange dream indeed my dear?” Mother said. Mother continued “My child, God really has His strange ways of teaching us. He wants you to realize and feel how it is to be like those children you drove away. Remember the Golden Rule? Do not do unto others what you do not want others do unto you.

CONSCIENCE
I wept, I cried so hard. But these tears can’t bring back my
BROTHER to life. My being brought here by my conscience. I want to ask forgiveness. But can HE still hear? O heart, forgive me for what I have done, please bring peace to mind. Luis was my only brother. Since our childhood, I always believed that I was the favorite of our Mom. I can’t forget what happen one night, while I was facing the dressing mirror, “You can’t get out tonight.” I heard a threatening tone from him. I turned to him, but with a sharp stare, I replied to him. “And who says so, my dear brother?” My brother responded; “We are to celebrate Papa’s death anniversary, you know that don’t you?” In a relaxed and condescending voice, I replied “Well I don’t care. I’m going out to party tonight!” Then I heard a knock on the door. I shouted “Help Mama!” for I knew that it was she. When the door opened the site Mama saw that Luis was holding my neck, I cried so hard that made Mama grow to the height of anger. She pushed Luis to the corner, where the head of my poor Brother hit at the edge of the chair. I slowly rejoiced for I had made a successful revenge. But when he lifted, I saw a different sparkle in his tearful eyes. “Ha ha ha ha ha!” O my, Luis, he went out of his mind. I was not able to move, as well as Mama. Both of us were motionless. And before we returned to our senses, Luis ran to the door and proceeded to the open gate of our house. We followed him calling out his name. “Luis!” “Brother!” “Luis” “Brother” “Luis the Truck!” “Don’t cross the road, Luis, the truck don’t Don’t DON’T!” The next sight I saw was that Luis was thrown five meters away from the truck. I ran to him and embraced him. Blood was all over her face. In a low but distinct voice he murmured, that made my heart break so much. He said to me, “please be a good boy. I love you. Please be a good boy ‘coz Mama loves you very much.” “Luis? Luis? Brother… Brother!!!” From that moment I cried so hard for killing my only brother, who loved and cared for me, even at the last moment of her life. Now can you blame me, for asking God to forgive me? Forgive me dear God, Forgive me!
