WHAT IS ELECTRICITY?
ELECTRICITY IS THE INTERACTION OF ELECTRIC CHARGES.

Electric charges are a fundamental property of protons

and electrons, which make up every atom. Positive and
negative charges are the two types of electric charges.
Protons possess a positive charge, whereas electrons
carry a negative charge.
 HOW DOES ELECTRICITY WORK?
ELECTRICITY IS MADE OF ELECTRONS

It is the flow of electric charge as a form of electricity that creates an electrical

current form

The movement of a number of electrons creates magnetic fields, which

kickstarts the formation of electric charges.

Conductive materials that are used to carry the electric charge, such as a
copper wire, have a negative charge flow of electrons.
HISTORY OF ELECTRICITY
People were aware of shocks from electric fish ancient
egyptians refered to this fish as a thunderer of the Nile.
In the 18th century, Benjamin Frannklin conducted extensive research
in electricity. In june 1752 he attached a metal key with a white kite
string and flew the kite in a thunderstorm.
In the early 19th century, rapid progress in electrical science. The DIRECT CURRENT (DC)
discovery of Volta’s battery gave scientists amore reliable source of
electricity.
Michael Faraday invented the electric motor in 1821.
George Ohm mathematically analyzed the electrical circuit in 1827
In the late 19th century, was a rapid growth in Electrical engineering.
Thomas Alva Edison contributed in developing a lightbulb
ALTERNATING CURRENT (AC)
Nikola Tesla contributedin inventing AC
Everyday, we are surrounded by one of the most important
innovations of all time, electricity.

THE IMPORTANCE OF ELECTRICITY

Starting with your house, electricity is important for operating all

aplliances, entertainment, lighting and of course all technology.
