What may change for the British monarchy?

Queen Elizabeth II imposed her authority for 70 years. Hence, it is difficult to imagine
the British monarchy without the Queen and we may wonder what changes will be since Charles
III is the new King.
Firstly, in a monarchy, there are lots of symbols related to the sovereign. As a result of
Charles III’s coronation, there will be many changes, starting with the national anthem. From
”God save the Queen”, the anthem will become ”God save the King”. Moreover, Charles III will
replace the Queen on money and stamps, and the old ones will be collected by banks and post
offices.
Not only will the new currency be a major change for people, but also the kingdom will
be weakened. For example, countries like Australia have expressed their desire to become
republics. Therefore, the King cannot do anything because these countries are independent even
though the Queen ruled over them.
To conclude, the death of the Queen is an important event involving new changes for the
British monarchy.

In your opinion, is the British monarchy still a relevant institution today? Nowadays, the
importance of the British monarchy is a discussed topic. It is considered that the King has a
symbolic role in the state. First of all, I think that the monarchy is still a relevant institution. Even
though the British sovereign has less authority in politics, the King has some considerable
functions as Head of State. For example, the monarch approves a law by Royal assent, which is
the final step required to make a bill into an act of Parliament. Moreover, the sovereign has
executive power, being capable of dismissing the Prime Minister. In addition, the monarchy
preserves British history. I strongly believe that the sovereign is a symbol of unity and pride for
the kingdom, given the fact that this state has been a monarchy for centuries. For instance,
many people see Queen Elizabeth II as a role model for her devotion to a life of service. To sum
up, I consider that the monarchy is still a relevant institution today, because the King is a
figurehead of the nation, who has legislative and executive power.
