Students who started in Fall 2022 or Spring 2023 can also transfer to this new curriculum.
Update to Gen Ed requirements/BSc CAMB
• Include (Computing-Python) (4 CH) – COSC 114
• Introduce ‘Data Science/AI’ (3 CH) course – SCIE 202 (requires MATH 112 and COSC 114)
• Introduce three 1-CH courses for student & career development and remove the 0 CH SDAS 300 ‘Career
Development’
• GENS 100 –Academic Development and Success
• GENS 300 – Career Preparation
• GENS 400 – Enhancing Employability and Job Readiness
• Replace separate Islamic and Arabic courses (6 CH combined) with one of the following combined 3 CH
courses:
• HUMA 107 - Introduction to Arabic and Islamic Heritage (Taught in English)
• HUMA 108 - Arabic and Islamic Heritage (Taught in Arabic)
• No Change in one course that was removed from GER:
• PHYS 122 (University Physics II) – even though this course is not a GER, it is still a CAMB program requirement
• BIOL 430 (4 CH) (Bioinformatics) is replaced with BIOL 431 (3 CH) (Bioinformatics)
COURSE EQUIVALENCIES

• (4 CH) – COSC 114 = ENGR 112 (Introduction to computing using C++) OR ENGR 113
(Intro to computing using Matlab) OR ENGR 114 (Intro to computing using Python) –
All 4 CH

• (1 CH) GENS 100 = SDAS 101 (1 CH)

• (3 CH) HUMA 107/108 = HUMA 101 AND HUMA 102 – 6 CH combined resulting in 3
extra credits that won’t count towards graduation but will still count in your GPA.
