which means stone.
The prehistoric period is known as the Stone age or the Paleolithic Age who was about 2 million
Years ago.
Mesolithic Age – The transition from Old Stone Age to the New Stone Age is known as the
Mesolithic period or “ Middle stone Age”. During the Mesolithic period, there were changes in
climatic conditions. Changes forced man and animals to adopt themselves to new environment
and conditions.

Neolithic Age – The second phase of the Stone Age is known as the New Stone Age or Neolithic
Age. This began 10,000 years ago. At this time, man made more polished stone tools. They also
made potteries and started to cultivate crops.
