Good morning everyone! How are you today?

Festival is an event ordinarily celebrated by a
community and centering on some belief and its religion
or tradition.  Sir I think it is the old tradition.

There are famous festivals in the Philippines. But now  Sir! I think Ati-Atihan means
we focus in festival in Aklan which is Ati-Atihan. Atis

What is Ati-Atihan?

That’s right!
Ati-Atihan means “to be like Atis” or “to make belief
Atis”
Ati-Atihan is the old tradition where indigenous Ati  Sir they celebrate Ati-Atihan
people honors the infant Jesus St. Nino. festival every January in Aklan.

The Ati-Atihan festival is known as the “Oldest and


mother of all festival in the Philippines.

Now, when and where does Ati-Atihan celebrate?

They celebrate Ati-Atihan festival every 3rd Sunday of
January. In the town of Kalibo Philippines in the island
of Panay originally came from Batan, Aklan then

One tradition or practices that Aklan have is Sadsad.


Now, what is Sadsad?
Very Good!
The word “Sadsad” in the local dialect means dance.
The Sadsad is held in honor of the Patroness.

But during Ati-Atihan festival it is also means a time for


everyone to group together and battle it out on the street.  (Playing the video)
It is a tradition for friends, families and organizations to  None Sir!
parade in their colorful costumes and mightiest band.

What is Paepak?

Paepak/Payapak/Palapak is an age-old tradition where


the image of Sto.Nino de kalibo is rubbed on the
devotees while whispering prayers of healing. It is  (Playing the video)
called “Pahilot”.
