CHANGE MANAGEMENT

PROJECT OUTLINE

(OVERVIEW)

It’s a group project. Select an organization of your choice that you are familiar with and
discuss (interview) with the manager of your acquaintance he or she has been involved in
managing change in organization. Ask the manager to describe change, what was accomplished
and what happened, agenda for change, need for change and diagnosis. Focus on the following
areas given below or student may focus on other areas during an interview with the manager that
they consider important for managing change in organization.

- Introduction of an Organization
- What are the key environmental issues affecting your organization such as political,
economic, social, cultural and technological factors and their implications for managers/
organizations?
- Discuss the internal forces of change in organization (structure, people etc)/ issues
internal to organizations that push them towards change.
- What was the change strategy/ which was appropriate (push / pull)
- Explain why people resist change/ and reacted to change and how resistance might be
managed.
- How stakeholders were managed effectively?
- Describe the change (programmatic change any etc) and what happened, how was
changed managed/ types (reactive, anticipatory, incremental and radical etc) and why/
how change helped the organization.
- Apply the Kurt Lewin model or the force field analysis (forces for change and forces that
oppose change)
- Apply the seven key steps of change process given in chapter two.
- SWOT analysis assessed.
- Change management and leadership role.
- Learning and change (learning from change management success/ failure)
- Communicating change (how message was conveyed, process and barriers)
- Conclusion
