 Introduction
Jean Louise Finch commonly referred to as scout is
one of the protagonist of the novel. Her character
plays two separate roles in the novel. The first role
being a little kid (scout) and the second role being
the adult (jean) who narrates her past childhood
events.
SCOUT
Wonder why her she is commonly refer to as
scout? People refer to her as scout because
of her huge intellectual curiosity on different
topics!

Scouts teachers were very much
surprised when they realized that she
could read and write (in cursive) on
the first day of 1st grade. Scout was
always a very smart and bright a child
on the top of her class.
Scouts main quality trait is her The novel takes place for three years
refered to as a tomboy. Her father where scout is 6 years old at the

Development As the novel progresses, Scout has
her first contact with evil in the form
of racial prejudice. be bruised,

development through displaying
emotional growth as she finds
herself feeling empathy for others,
becoming self-aware and learning
self-control.
Conclusion In conclusion we can say that Jean is
very much a dynamic and round
character displaying changes
throughout the novel. Over the
course of the novel she changes in
multiple ways such as her empathy
building up or her personal e elation
and her views on the world and
lastly her display of courage.
