These houses convey a rustic-medieval atmosphere and are unique in
Europe.
The traditional rural household in Romania, located on the territory of the
Transylvanian World, has been extremely well preserved over time, retaining
many of its characteristics since the medieval period. Small in size compared
to western rural households, the Transylvanian household is self-sustaining in
a rustic and unpolluted environment.
