Perspective in the development and appreciation of modern music

Historical Perspective
At the end of 19th century and into the 20th century, music was emerged from earlier music
traditions to modern music by challenging and reinterpreting older categories of music and
also innovations that led to new ways of organizing and approaching the new genres of
music. To illustrate, different types of modern music are harmonic, rhythmic, melodic and
sonic. Modernist composers embarked on a journey to push the boundaries of music,
exploring various methods of music composition. Towards the close of the 19th century,
composers defied traditional tonal harmony, venturing into uncharted territories of sound,
experimenting with innovative sound organization, polytonality, and eventually, post-tonality.

Cultural Perspective
Undoubtedly, America's rich musical tapestry is a product of its status as a melting pot of
immigrants and their diverse traditions. The United States boasts a wide array of musical
influences, such as Creole and jazz from Louisiana, African heritage intertwined with blues
and gospel, Nashville's country tunes, contemporary R&B, the counterculture of rock and
roll, and the birth of hip hop in the Bronx. In addition, few countries such as Jamaica, India,
South Africa and Iceland had influenced various types of genres for modern music. For
instance, the genres of music are Roots Reggae, Indi-pop, Hip-Hop, Drum and bass and also
Electronic.

Technological Perspective
In the ever-evolving field of music production, technological progress has opened the door to
a fresh era of creativity and convenience. Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), virtual
instruments, and cutting-edge plugins have become influential factors in reshaping the music
production landscape. These tools empower artists, making music creation more accessible
and allowing the realization of artistic visions with remarkable ease and precision.

Social and Political Perspective
Music has always played a significant role in social and political movements. It's been used
to express disagreement, foster togetherness, and inspire change. For instance, during the
1960s civil rights movement, songs like "We Shall Overcome" and "A Change Is Gonna
Come" became powerful symbols of the fight for racial equality, motivating activists and
giving voice to their cause.

Furthermore, music has a unique ability to bring people from different backgrounds together.
It's a universal language that goes beyond words and cultures, helping to connect people and
promote understanding.
